PoopBags.com T-Shirt Sale: 100% of Profits Donated!
PoopBags.com has some fabulous t-shirts for
sale! What's even better is 100% of the
profits will be donated to two different
charities. PoopBags.com has selected Friends
of Chicago Animal Care & Control and Algalita
Marine Research Foundation.

Here's the kicker: out of the two charities,
you - as purchaser - decide which charity
receives the proceeds. Tough isn't it?
Another solution is to buy two t-shirts - one
for each charity!
Price = $12.00
(If you purchase with the PoopBags.com Annual
Supply, the t-shirt is knocked down to $9.00. Isn't that
great!?!!)

Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control
Chicago Animal Care & Control (CACC; aka "The Pound") is a highly underfunded city
agency that is definitely burdened with the more gruesome realities of animal neglect
and abuse. With that said, it continues to function with a 365/24/7 open door policy.
CACC not only receives owner relinquished animals, but it is also charged to rescue all
stray, neglected, injured, hoarded, abused and exploited animals. All of this adds up to
over 24,000 animals passing through the CACC doors annually which provides veterinary
care, food, water and shelter.

CACC also participates in and heads several initiatives such as Homeward Bound, which
gives adoptable animals to other local shelters. CACC additionally provides low cost or free
spay/neutering, free dog training sessions, and animal abuse awareness programs for
Chicago city employees.

At the end of the day, the staff and volunteers relentlessly pursue the ultimate goals of
an animal cruelty free world, controlling overpopulation, and finding loving homes for
everyone.

According to a PoopBags.com Customer/CACC Volunteer:
"I can tell you right now, we are grossly underfunded and many of us volunteers are very
disheartened due to the fact the city has cut at least 8 jobs from CACC. Our adoption
hours have been reduced drastically because of this. At the same time, our redemption
levels have gone way up with people not being able to financially care for their animals
due to job losses and foreclosures. I cannot tell you how much we all appreciate this."

Algalita Marine Research Foundation
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the world's largest
floating toxic dump. It extends from California to China
and measures over 10 million square miles. The waste is
estimated at 3.5 million tons of junk and 80% of it is
plastic. Since plastic photodegrades and resembles
plankton, fish then eat it. Birds, particularly albatrosses,
eat bottle caps and other pieces of plastic which blocks
their digestive tracts.

Thank goodness for The Algalita Marine Research
Foundation, which is dedicated to the protection of the
marine environment and its watersheds through
research, education, and restoration.

In keeping with its mission statement, the Algalita
Marine Research Foundation (AMRF) is engaged solely in
(1) Protection of the marine environment and its
watersheds, through investigative research on the
impact of plastic marine pollution; and (2) Providing
authoritative, educational findings to the public, private
and scientific communities.
